Tileco Inc. stocks Stratagrid and Tensar. A geogrid is used to reinforce the soil. Grids are manufactured using high molecular weight / high tenacity polyester yarn. The yarns are knitted into a dimensionally stable, uniform network of apertures providing significant tensile reinforcement capacity. A black PVC saturation coating provides further chemical and mechanical, as well as ultraviolet protection.

Considerations for Geogrid Estimation:

Rule of Thumb:
Geogrid length should be approximately 60 to 100% of wall height

Geogrid comes in rolls that are six feet wide

Tileco stocks the Strata-Grid brand of geogrid
Tensar geogrid is available on a job specific basis (usually HDOT)

Linear feet x 6 feet = square footage

Example:
50 linear (along front of wall) x 6 feet (length of grid behind wall) - 300 square feet

Note: Tileco sells geogrid by the roll or square yard so quantities will need to be
converted from square feet to square yards

Example:
To convert 300 square feet into square yards
300 divided by 9 (# of sq.ft. in square yard) = 33.33 square yards.
Round up to buy 34 yards.
